WELCOME TO “THE RADIO CONTROL FLYING CLUB OF BRITISH COLUMBIA”

Radio Control Flying Club of BC (RCFCBC) is a club of RC enthusiasts who are based in British Columbia, Canada. We love to meet over food and drink to talk about RC planes, helicopters, Drones and EDF jets. We love the smell of gas, nitro and batteries.

Club History

The club was established in 1964 at 152nd & 64 (Boss Road). At one time RCFCBC was one of the largest membership in Canada with over 400 members. The field was relocated to Fry’s corners in Surrey and then moved to Mission in the early 2010.

Many of the  members of this club have been involved in this hobby for 50+ years and that only shows how much fun it truly can be.

The Radio Controlled Flying Club of BC (RCFCBC) is Incorporated under the Society Act in the Province of British Columbia incorporated under the name Radio Controlled Flying Club of BC (RCFCBC) in 1965, #S-0007222

Over the years the club has been a very exciting and fun place to fly, if you would like to get involved and join us contact one of the executive members or check out the benefits page.

We Fly Gas & Nitro

Gas powered RC airplanes are some of the best model planes to fly, especially if you are an expert. There are also models, which are suitable for beginners as well. But, before you fly, you need to figure out different types of RC model planes, so that you choose the right one, to have a smooth ride.

In the first place, you must know that the gas powered RC planes use the combustion engine technique. Compressed Carbon dioxide gas is let to come out from the back of the plane, to propel the gas planes. These engines are modified further to include pistons. Glow engine is another type of engine used by many hobbyists. This engine also employs the same internal combustion method as in a normal car. Only the engine is a very small version of the real one. The engine uses a mixture of methanol and nitro methane, which are slow burning gases and some kind of oil lubricant.

We fly Electric & EDF

One of the fastest growing areas of radio control in recent years is electric aircraft. Many factors have contributed to this growth including quickly advancing battery technology and construction techniques.

An improvement in motor technology has also provided greater interest in the field. Motors have gotten smaller, more powerful, with better magnets, and now there are brush-less motors with less friction, less wear, and less maintenance.

Although just about any model aircraft can be electric powered, performance will be far superior if the model is designed specifically for the purpose. The key factor for a good performing electric model is lightness—the airframe must be strong, but more importantly light. Electric models can be of almost any size, but the most popular are in the small to medium size range. The smaller models may be only a couple of feet in wingspan, weigh merely ounces, and have only a stick for a fuselage.
We Fly Helicopters/Multicopter/Drones

RC Helicopter/Drones

The RC helicopter/Drones can be very difficult and expensive, but the pleasure it can give to people is priceless. With many tolerances, money, and willpower people can surely fly their own helicopter/drone. Once they learn to fly these wonderful machines, they will understand that all the time and money they spent in the joy of flight.

People who fly remote control helicopters/drones are known to have fast thoughts and quick reply speed.

These machines are very amazing; it will certainly produce a different kind of happiness especially if people managed to fly them nicely. As well, higher flying involves planned techniques to do different 3D directional flights. This makes a hobbyist get a lot of thrill and great fun that other RC or activities can't achive.
